Hawks Playbook Podcast Episode 91  Seahawks Tame the Panthers

Hello Seahawks fans and welcome back to episode 91 of the Hawks Playbook Podcast! What a thrilling victory to propel the Seahawks above .500 to a 6-5 record and put them in serious contention for a solid playoff run as we enter the home stretch. Literally the home stretch! 4 of the next 5 remaining games are at home which is a nice advantage to have in the final month of the season, especially after the gantlet of games the team has had to endure these past 5 weeks since the bye. Seattle has emerged with a 3-2 record after the bye, which is pretty much the best that we could realistically expect from this young team, and is now positioned with a solid chance at earning a playoff spot.

Seattle overcame a ton of factors that normally tip the scales towards the challenger on any given Sunday, but against the Panthers, Seattle took advantage of a poor red zone performance from them, and lack of execution down the stretch, combined with huge game on the line plays. David Moore, Tyler Lockett and Tre Flowers all came up big when it counted in the final minutes, but the biggest factor was Russell Wilson’s outstanding….and gutsy play.  Of course you have to mention the game winning field goal by Sebastian Janikowski as time expired to seal the 3-point road victory.  It was the most important victory of the season, and likely reset Seattle’s season from one outside the playoffs looking in, to one where they could be one of the teams that nobody wants to face come January.

Finally, Bill and Keith take a look ahead to the San Fransisco 49ers at home this next Sunday and we also take a quick glance at the remaining schedule, which looks mostly favorable.  Both Keith and Bill agree that the Vikings game remains a toss up at this juncture, and the Chiefs game looks super challenging, but its not beyond the possibilities that Seattle could end up winning 10 games and they could even surprise everyone, and win out! Yeah it does sound crazy….so let’s just focus on one game at a time and go get this victory next Sunday!!

Go Hawks!!
