EPS 47: 2018 First Look: Salary Cap and Team Free Agents

Hello Seahawks Fans, welcome to the Hawks Playbook Podcast. In today’s episode, Bill and Keith take a first look at the current state of the salary cap for the team. The bottom line? How much money do we have to spend and how will that effect the roster in 2018? We start by using team cap totals provided by www.overthecap.com. They have been compiling salary cap information for all NFL teams for several years now and have proven to be mostly accurate in the cap info that they publish. Even if it’s within 10% accuracy, it will be good enough to get the conversation started for where the Seahawks stand to start the off-season.

EPS 46: Coaching Carousal

Shottenheimer was hired to execute Pete Carroll’s philosophy and vision and sublimate his own interests, and continue to develop an offense around the dynamic Russell Wilson at quarterback. If what you were after was a young, unproven but up and coming innovative force as offensive coordinator, then you will be disappointed. Pete is going back to his tried and true philosophy of a rock-solid run game, and he trusts that Wilson is far enough along in his development to ensure that we will still have a dynamic passing attack.

A Fitting End to A Less Than Ideal Season

EPS 44: A Fitting End to A Less Than Ideal Season

It was a fitting and darkly poetic finish to the season, as the game encapsulated all that was wrong with the under performing season. Slow starting offense with 24 first half yards, a great comeback effort by Russell Wilson and crew, only to be thwarted by unfortunate and ill-timed penalties that allowed the Cardinals to score on their last drive, and force a last second field goal attempt by Walsh who missed. The 2017 season in a nutshell.

EPS 43: Seahawks Defense Delivers Win vs Dallas

Hello and welcome to the Hawks Playbook Podcast. Join Hosts Bill Alvstad and Keith Myers as we delve into the dominant defensive performance on the road against the Cowboys, and how the 3 turnovers paved the way for the offense to eek out a must win performance. The playoffs unofficially started in earnest last Sunday in a do or die game where the winner lived to see their season hopes for playoffs continue, while the loser would be eliminated from playoff contention. Justin Coleman had a 30 yard pick 6, and Byron Maxwell and KJ Wright had key defensive turnovers that led directly to offensive touchdowns, and that were the difference in this game.
