Hawks Playbook Podcast Episode 84 Seahawks improving in tough loss

Seahawks fans welcome to the 84th edition of the Hawks Playbook Podcast! Today, Keith and Bill delve into the painful home loss against the Los Angeles Rams. It’s only painful because the Seattle Seahawks exceeded expectations in the game to the point where we should have won this game. We certainly put ourselves in a position to win until the final possession, until two offensive line penalties took us out of field goal range and we had to punt the ball back to the Rams offense. As things worked out, the Rams were able to do just enough and run out the close to preserve a 33-31 win.

There were a lot of positives to take away from this game in any event. While you can argue there are no moral victories with a loss, you can’t argue that the Seahawks were able to do a lot of great things in this game, and had a lot of individual performances that left the fan base generally more optimistic about the team going forward, than before the kickoff for this game.  Keith and Bill spend considerable amount of time highlighting the offensive performance and the players that really stood out. As we turned to the defense, it is true we gave up a ton of yards and points to the Rams, overall, it didn’t feel like a terrible performance and did have some really good individual performances that give us hope that we have some really nice young pieces to build around for the rest of the year and into the near future.

Finally, we spend the last 15 minutes of the show previewing the game vs the Oakland Raiders in London on Sunday morning. Oakland is struggling both offensively and defensively and has been prone to mental lapses and turnovers. If Seattle can capitalize on both of those, the Seahawks should walk away with a nice convincing win.

Go Hawks!
