Hawks Playbook Podcast Episode 83- Desert Win and Rams Come To Town

Welcome back Hawks fans! Keith and Bill look back at the costly win down in Arizona and look ahead to a showdown at home with the fast rising Los Angeles Rams this coming Sunday afternoon in Seattle.  Earl Thomas may have played his last game in a Seahawks uniform this past Sunday, and it’s hard to convey in words just how much that completely sucks! What an unlucky stadium to play football in. Man. Sherman and Chancellor last season, and now Earl. Add Dissly in there as well. Ouch! You can talk all you want about his on the field gesture towards the Seahawks bench and John Schneider, but absolutely nothing should take away from the player that Earl Thomas has been for the Seattle Seahawks over the last 8 seasons.

Keith and I do get around to talk about the game, as well as dive into the troubles that the offense is having….specifically, how Brian Shottenheimer is not helping Russell Wilson be a better quarterback. Quite the opposite is occurring. Turn Russell Wilson loose!! That’s what we say. As frustrating as it has been to watch the offense at times, we seem to have found an identity rushing the ball effectively. Last week it was Carson. This week it was Davis. It does seem like at this point, it is one of the only things that genuinely gives us a chance to be in every game.

In come the now feared Los Angeles Rams for what essentially is a revenge game from last years shellacking of a loss, 42-7 at home. While it does seem like an absurd possibility to win this Sunday, Seattle does have legitimate chances to pull off a win. Yes, it will take playing a near flawless game on offense and defense and will take a little bit of help with some timely turnovers. But this is the NFL, and any given Sunday…blah blah blah. Seattle just needs to slow down Gurley and force Goff into some uncomfortable situations on offense to generate some mistakes. On our offense, we do need to continue to run the ball….if nothing else but to take the ball out of Goff’s hands. We also need to see the passing game take off for Russell Wilson and Co.  While it does seem like an uphill battle for all that to happen at the moment, don’t count out the Seahawks to win this game. You’ve got to believe!

See you next time Seahawks fans! Go Hawks!!
